Blackberry Tip Layering – Success!

Tip Rooting/Layering Blackberries – Update 21 days later. 
Now that you can see the roots growing along the bottom of the clear container it's time to separate them from the main plant and decide what you want to do next.  Here are some options:  

1. Give it away to friend or neighbor so they can grown their own blackberries!  

2. Sell them or trade them for other plants you may want to grow.  

3. Increase your number of blackberry plants so you can have a larger harvest.  You might decide to start a new blackberry row or fill in any spots where past plants got damaged or diseased.

5 Steps After Blackberry Season Ends

  Here are 5 things I do at the end of the season after the blackberry harvest. 1. Prune the floricanes. 2. Tip the canes to encourage laterals. 3. Add compost/fertilizer. 4.
